Corporate Tax Senior 

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk 
Hours: Full Time 
Salary: circa £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience 

A large chartered accountancy practice is looking for a Corporate Tax Senior to join the dedicated tax department.

This is an ideal role for a qualified or finalist accountant/tax adviser with strong corporate tax compliance experience and a growing interest in advisory work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review corporation tax returns and highlight findings to senior staff.
• Identify tax issues and planning opportunities.
• Support R&D claims and assist with advisory work including restructures, valuations, and clearances.
• Liaise with HMRC and clients directly on compliance and technical queries.
• Provide internal tax support across departments and deliver staff training.
• Supervise junior staff and review their work.
• Assist with ATED and ERS returns. Contribute to business development and attend networking events where required.
• Maintain strong client relationships and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
• Support the Corporate Tax Directors and Partners with wider tax initiatives.

Ideal Candidate:

• ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist)
• Minimum 3 years’ corporate tax experience in practice
• Technically strong, with good communication and organisational skills
• Familiar with Alphatax, CCH, and Microsoft Excel.
