Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for diverse clients

  • Perform bookkeeping tasks and support personal tax return preparation

  • Manage wages journals and liaise with HMRC

  • Engage in manual and online bookkeeping, progressing to payroll responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in accounts and tax returns

  • Support clients via email, phone, and meetings, including guidance on accounting software

  • Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for business improvements and efficiencies

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the effective running of the accounts function, identifying areas for improvement

  • Enhance competence in accounting software and supporting applications

  • Promote the firm’s services and ethos to clients and the wider community

  • Stay updated on industry practices and business developments

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops for professional development

Requirements:

  • AAT qualification desirable

  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles

  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero

  • Experience in financial accounting and reporting

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
