Part-Qualified Trainee Accounting Technician (AAT)

Location: Weston-super-Mare
Hours: 36.25 hours per week (Flexible & Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000

They are now seeking a part-qualified Trainee Accounting Technician who is partway through their AAT qualification and keen to continue studying to full qualification, to join their Weston-super-Mare office on a permanent basis.

The Role

This is a blended role combining practical, hands-on experience (80%) with theoretical training (20%) under an AAT apprenticeship agreement. You will work closely with experienced professionals while continuing your AAT Level 3 or Level 4 studies — fully funded by the firm.

You will support the team in delivering a wide range of accounting and taxation services to business and individual clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing financial information, reports, and returns for a diverse client base

  • Assisting with bookkeeping and recording financial transactions using accounting software

  • Preparing personal and company tax computations

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns

  • Supporting with income and expenditure analysis to aid decision-making and planning

  • Assisting across accounting and taxation assignments as required

  • Undertaking additional duties and projects aligned with the role as needed

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completed AAT Level 2

  • Currently studying AAT Level 3 or Level 4

  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice or finance team preferred
