Role Overview

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing client payroll portfolios and ensuring timely and accurate compliance reporting. You will liaise with clients, HMRC, and pension providers while assisting the team in delivering high-quality payroll services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, taking primary responsibility for payroll compliance

  • Prepare weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls

  • Inform clients of HMRC liabilities, pension contributions, and other payroll obligations

  • Make submissions to HMRC and pension providers on time

  • Liaise with client managers regarding client issues or assistance requirements

  • Handle client queries and escalate when necessary

  • Liaise with HMRC and other external bodies as required

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships

  • Identify additional services the firm can provide to enhance client experience and fee income

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in payroll administration within a practice or corporate environment

  • Strong understanding of HMRC compliance and payroll legislation

  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset

  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented

  • Able to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently
