The Role
A growing accountancy firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager to lead its internal payroll bureau function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of a variety of client payrolls while maintaining strong compliance and excellent service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and process multiple payrolls across varied client types and sectors
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with current legislation
- Manage auto-enrolment duties and pension submissions
- Liaise with HMRC on PAYE matters
- Train and support junior payroll staff as needed
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience, ideally in a practice or bureau setting
- Confident with current payroll legislation and auto-enrolment requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, BrightPay, or similar)
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
