The Role
A growing accountancy firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager to lead its internal payroll bureau function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of a variety of client payrolls while maintaining strong compliance and excellent service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and process multiple payrolls across varied client types and sectors
Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with current legislation
Manage auto-enrolment duties and pension submissions
Liaise with HMRC on PAYE matters
Train and support junior payroll staff as needed
Recommend and implement process improvements
Requirements
Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience, ideally in a practice or bureau setting
Confident with current payroll legislation and auto-enrolment requirements
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, BrightPay, or similar)
Strong communication and client relationship skills
