A well-established accountancy practice in Sheffield is seeking a Personal Tax Manager to manage a portfolio of personal tax clients. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, provide high-quality tax compliance and advisory services, and lead a small team of tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of personal and trust tax clients, ensuring compliance and timely filing of tax returns

  • Review tax returns and other work produced by less experienced team members

  • Provide clients with proactive, efficient, and cost-effective taxation services

  • Assist with ad-hoc personal tax advisory work as required

  • Line management, mentoring, and coaching of staff

  • Research and draft private client and employment tax advice

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the practice to deliver excellent client service

  • Report to senior management and partners, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency

Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualified by experience or CTA qualified

  • At least 4 years’ post-qualification experience in personal tax

  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues

  • Excellent time management and ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Commercially minded with experience in line management and team supervision

  • Experience in tax advisory desirable but not essential

  • Familiarity with other taxes advantageous but not essential
