POD Senior / Semi Senior Accountant & Auditor
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Camberley (office based)

As a key member supporting the Manager within one of their Business Services PODs, you will manage a portfolio of clients and deliver a broad range of services including statutory accounts, audit, VAT support, and corporate/personal tax returns. This is a hands-on role within a friendly, collaborative team and is ideal for a driven, ambitious and versatile individual seeking their next career challenge.
Qualifications & Systems Experience
Excellent knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office.
Highly IT-literate and experienced with various accounting software packages.
Ability to learn new systems quickly and work accurately across multiple platforms.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF and SUMIFS.
ACA or ACCA recently / nearly qualified.
Relevant Experience
Experience in a busy, fast-paced public practice environment.
Proficient in preparing statutory accounts, audits, VAT returns, payroll, and tax returns (personal, partnership & corporate).
Able to handle some complex cases with support.
Experience conducting audits across a range of client sizes and sectors, with sound understanding of audit techniques and objectives. Ability to lead smaller audits is advantageous.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare statutory accounts, audit assignments, VAT returns, payroll, corporation tax and personal tax returns, with responsibility for reviewing simpler work.
Complete year-end files with full backup schedules to support balance sheet figures.
Ensure a high and consistent quality of output across all work.
Develop and document processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
Supervise, manage, train and motivate junior staff.
Follow existing systems and contribute to updates and improvements.
Monitor and meet job budgets.
Review VAT returns and apply strong working knowledge of VAT concepts and calculations.
Provide ad hoc advisory services as required.
