Role Overview – Practice Manager
The Practice Manager will manage and supervise all aspects of the accounting team, ensuring high-quality client service, accurate reporting, and compliance with professional standards. Key responsibilities include:
Supervising and managing a growing accounting team
Preparation of monthly and annual management accounts
Liaising with external auditors and stakeholders
Analyzing financial data and preparing reports
Regular contact with clients via telephone, online meetings, and Teams
Ensuring accuracy of financial records in line with procedures and best practice
Preparation of information and reports for internal and external use
Supporting hybrid team working, contributing to a flexible and collaborative environment
Using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, SAPA (beneficial but not essential)
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, candidates must:
Be a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW or ACCA) qualified in the UK
Have experience in a public accountancy practice and a continued desire to work in practice
Reside within a 40-minute commute of Hemel Hempstead (reliable transport or car required)
Demonstrate attention to detail, integrity, and pace in day-to-day accounting tasks
Strong leadership and team management skills
Flexible and collaborative approach to work
