About the Role

We are partnering with a long-established independent accountancy and business advisory firm with offices across the North of England and Scotland. They are seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join their Leeds office as part of a national Tax Consultancy team.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality tax advisory services to private clients, including proactive planning, client meetings, and project management. It is ideal for a CTA-qualified tax professional seeking career progression in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver private client tax advisory services, liaising with clients and internal teams

  • Conduct new client meetings and identify tax planning opportunities

  • Provide proactive advice on personal tax, capital gains, inheritance tax, and private client planning

  • Manage advisory projects from planning through to completion, reviewing junior team work

  • Mentor and support Tax Seniors and Trainees

  • Monitor work in progress, recoveries, and billing for your client portfolio

  • Respond to ad hoc tax queries from across the firm

  • Provide expertise in specialist areas such as agricultural tax and trusts (desirable)

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • CTA qualified, with experience leading tax advisory projects

  • Strong technical knowledge of personal tax, CGT, IHT, and private client planning

  • Experience advising on agricultural tax and trust matters desirable but not essential

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing ability

  • Organised, commercially minded, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, working across multiple offices
