About the Role
An expanding small accountancy practice in Rochdale is seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their team. This full-time, permanent position offers exposure to a broad range of accounting, tax, and bookkeeping responsibilities, working with a regular portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate bookkeeping across various digital systems
Prepare, calculate, and submit VAT returns to HMRC
Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements
Prepare, calculate, and submit Self-Assessment and Corporation Tax Returns
Liaise with clients via telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings
Work on a regular client portfolio to ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are met
Collaborate effectively with the team while also working independently
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting practice
AAT qualified or above preferred
Strong IT skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, IRIS/Digita)
Excellent communication and client liaison skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
