About the Role
We’re representing a Top 20 UK accountancy and business advisory firm with offices across the UK and Ireland. Their Northallerton office is seeking a motivated Accounts Semi-Senior to support Directors and Managers in delivering high-quality services to a wide variety of SME clients. This opportunity is ideal for a part-qualified or fully AAT qualified accountant—or someone qualified by experience—looking to progress their career within a modern and forward-thinking practice.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparation of accounts, tax computations, and VAT returns for SME clients

Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring work is completed to high standards and deadlines

Act as a reliable point of contact for client queries, providing professional and service-focused support

Contribute to a collaborative team culture, supporting process improvements and client service excellence

Keep up to date with technical knowledge through training and CPD opportunities
Ideal Candidate Profile

AAT part-qualified, AAT fully qualified, or qualified by experience

Previous experience in an accountancy practice strongly preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, confident with client interaction

Proactive, dependable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities

Comfortable using Microsoft Office and cloud-based accounting software such as Xero or Sage
