Semi-Senior Accountant – Doncaster (South Yorkshire)

Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 (depending on experience)

Join a long-established, client-focused chartered certified accountants firm based in Doncaster.

Work across a broad portfolio of SME clients — including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies — delivering both accountancy and business advisory services.

Develop your technical skills with regular managerial accounting, tax compliance, and advisory work in a supportive practice environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare statutory accounts and management accounts for a varied client base

Assist with bookkeeping, reconciliations and control account maintenance

Prepare and review tax computations (corporate and personal)

Liaise with clients to understand their business needs and proactively offer commercial advice

Support audit fieldwork if required, including working papers and documentation
-
Help implement and use cloud-accounting systems and digital workflows
-
Mentor and guide junior colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team environment

Stay abreast of accounting standards and tax legislation changes to ensure compliance and best practice
Ideal Candidate Profile
-
Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) or experienced in a practice environment
-
2?4 years’ experience in accountancy practice, preferably working on accounts and tax assignments

Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and business tax
-
Experience with, or willingness to learn, cloud-accounting software

Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail

Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships
-
Motivated, proactive, and able to manage own time and deadlines effectively
