Semi-Senior Accountant – Leeds (West Yorkshire)

Role Overview

We’re looking for a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join the team. This role offers the chance to work on a broad portfolio of clients, handle diverse accounting and tax assignments, and develop your career within a dynamic practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

  • Produce management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and financial reporting packs

  • Complete VAT returns and handle VAT compliance and submissions

  • Assist with corporation tax and personal tax computations, and related compliance work

  • Maintain client bookkeeping, reconciliations, and ledger control accounts

  • Help with payroll or PAYE administration where required

  • Liaise directly with clients — build relationships, provide practical advice and answer queries

  • Support senior staff with audit, tax planning and advisory work when needed

  • Contribute to adoption and efficient use of cloud accounting and practice software

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Part-qualified (ACCA / ACA / equivalent) or experienced accountant with practice background

  • Prior experience in preparing accounts, tax, VAT, bookkeeping and management accounts for a varied client base

  • Comfortable using cloud accounting systems and modern accounting software

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, good numeracy and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills with an approachable, service-oriented attitude

  • Organised, self-motivated, and capable of handling a portfolio independently

  • Team-player, able to work collaboratively and support junior members when needed
