Role Overview
We’re looking for a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers wide exposure to accounts production, tax compliance, management reporting and bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio, with opportunities to expand into advisory work and develop technical expertise in a supportive, practice-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
Assist with management accounts, cashflow reporting and financial analysis
Prepare and submit VAT returns and support compliance deadlines
Support corporation tax and personal tax computations and filings
Maintain accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations and control account ledgers
Liaise with clients to understand business needs and deliver proactive advice
Assist senior colleagues on tax or advisory tasks where required
Support adoption and efficient use of accounting software and digital workflows
Contribute positively to internal process improvements and team collaboration
Ideal Candidate Profile
Part-qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / equivalent) or experienced in general practice accounting
Prior experience in a UK accountancy practice with preparation of accounts, VAT and bookkeeping work
Familiarity with cloud accounting packages (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and digital tools
Strong technical accounting knowledge, with attention to detail and good numeracy
Excellent communication with clients and internal team members
Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities
