Senior Accountant – Watelooville | £35,000 – £45,000 (Part-Time)

Are you an ACCA-qualified or equivalent Senior Accountant with at least five years’ experience in accountancy practice? This part-time role in Watelooville offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, office-based environment, providing high-quality accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Flexible salary based on experience and qualifications.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £35,000 – £45,000 per year (part-time, pro-rated)

  • Office-based role in Cowplain (within 10 miles preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies, and LLPs

  • Review, oversee, and support the training of colleagues in various accountancy areas

  • Communicate professionally with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings

  • Meet new and potential clients and provide accurate quotations for services

  • Accurately record and manage new client onboarding information

  • Ensure HMRC and Companies House compliance for clients

  • Advise clients on tax positions, regulations, thresholds, and allowances

  • Prepare and review bookkeeping, VAT returns, and CIS returns

  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients to resolve queries

  • Support the smooth running of the office environment and complete ad hoc tasks as requested

Relevant Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years’ accountancy practice experience

  • Proficient with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Sage

  • Up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and statutory requirements

  • Confident in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Good sense of humor and ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Willingness to assist with ad hoc duties, including client reception
