About the Role

A well-established professional services firm with multiple offices across Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join its Huddersfield office.

This role offers the opportunity to manage a client portfolio, prepare and review complex financial statements, and play a key role in mentoring junior team members. It is ideal for an ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant (or finalist) with strong practice experience and a proactive approach to client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and take ownership of a portfolio of clients

  • Prepare and review complex company financial statements

  • Prepare and review interim management accounts

  • Prepare and review personal tax returns

  • Prepare and review partnership accounts and partnership tax returns

  • Review and submit quarterly VAT returns

  • Assist with forecasts and business projections (desirable, not essential)

  • Attend client meetings and liaise with directors and business owners

  • Train and support junior staff, allocating work as appropriate

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (1+ years PQE preferred); strong finalists considered

  • Proven experience within an accountancy practice managing a mixed client portfolio

  • Strong technical skills across accounts, tax, and advisory services

  • Confident communicator with a professional, client-focused approach

  • Proactive, organised, self-motivated, and forward-thinking

  • Proficient with Office 365 and accounting software including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks

  • Experience with IRIS and spreadsheet development

  • Able to manage own workload while supporting team development
