Role Overview – Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing high-quality accounts, mentoring junior team members, and supporting clients across accounting and tax matters. Key responsibilities include:
Preparing statutory and management accounts for Manager/Partner review
Assisting and mentoring trainees and semi-seniors, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
Overseeing client workflows for a small portfolio
Working on-site with clients, offering technical and commercial insights
Advising clients on core accounting and tax matters
Supporting and maintaining strong client relationships
Identifying opportunities for added value services and flagging them to senior leadership
Keeping up to date with technical developments and applying them in practice
Contributing to the professional development of junior team members
Candidate Requirements
ACA or ACCA qualified
Proven experience preparing statutory and management accounts
Proficient in leading accounting software packages
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Confident in mentoring junior staff and managing client workflows
Commercially aware with a proactive client service approach
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
