Senior Accountant - Beverley (East Yorkshire)

We’re partnering with a reputable, client-focused chartered accounting and advisory firm serving businesses across East Yorkshire. Specialising in delivering tailored services beyond year-end accounts - including business development, tax planning, and ongoing relationship management. This role is perfect for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to take the next step in an environment that values your advisory capabilities, career growth, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Prepare corporate and personal tax returns
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients - helping with business development, succession, and accounting software guidance
- Provide ongoing relationship management and support beyond compliance work
- Exhibit strong analytical ability, identify client needs early, propose and implement solutions
- Demonstrate initiative, own client interactions from end to end
- Communicate with confidence, whether to offer advice, schedule calls or visits, or simply check in
- Use and support accounting software (IRIS, Sage, Excel) experience ideal, but willingness to learn valued
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 3 years’ practice experience
- ACA, ACCA qualified (or part-qualified), or comparable level by experience
- Demonstrable experience in preparing accounts and tax returns across multiple entity types
- Comfortable advising clients and building long-term business relationships
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Able to work proactively, both under direction and independently
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with IRIS, Sage, Excel—or open to learning new systems
