Location: Chester, Cheshire  
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000  
Contract: Full Time, On Site  

A growing accountancy practice in Chester is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA / ACCA qualified accountant (or someone currently studying towards qualification) who is looking to progress their career in practice. 

The Role of Accounts Senior 

As an Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Preparing accounts, tax computations, VAT returns, and PAYE documentation for submission to HMRC. 

  • Managing client accounts tasks, ensuring all work is delivered accurately and on time. 

  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues, providing guidance and reviewing their work. 

  • Maintaining strong client relationships, responding to queries promptly and professionally. 

  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory deadlines. 

  • Accurately recording chargeable time and contributing to billing recovery targets. 

  • Organising and prioritising your workload to ensure efficient delivery and readiness for review. 

Requirements 

  • ACA / ACCA qualification, or currently studying towards it. 

  • Experience working within a UK accountancy practice. 

  • Confidence using cloud-based accounting software (Xero experience preferred). 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities. 

  • A collaborative, dependable, and client-focused approach.
