Role Overview

  • Senior Accountant position offering broad technical exposure and progression within a respected independent firm

  • Significant involvement with agricultural, farming and rural-sector clients alongside general practice work

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

  • Produce tax computations and prepare self-assessment, partnership and corporation tax returns

  • Support senior leadership with complex technical work and advisory assignments

  • Provide commercial and compliance-focused advice to clients across accounting and tax matters

  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships across a varied portfolio

  • Contribute to workflow management and assist with internal process improvements where required

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience within an accountancy practice is essential

  • Knowledge of agricultural accounting or rural business clients highly advantageous

  • Competent user of cloud and desktop software (SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks); Farmplan and IRIS beneficial

  • Strong Excel proficiency and good overall MS Office skills

  • Well organised, detail-driven and confident communicating with clients

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to manage deadlines effectively

Salary, Benefits & Working Pattern

  • £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience

  • Hybrid working available after initial settling-in period
