Senior Accountant – Huddersfield
Location: Huddersfield (Shepley), West YorkshireEmployment: Full-time (Office-based/hybrid considered)
Reports to: Senior Partner
Salary: £37,000 - £45,000

The Senior Accountant will manage a varied portfolio, delivering statutory accounts, tax compliance, advisory services, and cloud-based finance support. The role requires strong technical capability, confident client interaction, and the ability to support internal improvement and team development initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory year-end accounts under UK GAAP
- Produce and review corporate and personal tax computations and manage HMRC submissions
- Deliver accurate and insightful management accounts
- Manage VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax compliance
- Provide proactive advisory input on tax planning, business growth, and operational efficiency
- Support and onboard clients using cloud accounting platforms
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Contribute to process improvements and quality enhancements across the practice
Person Specification:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- 3–5+ years’ experience in UK practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and tax legislation
- Confident with cloud accounting systems
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- High organisational discipline with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Professional, proactive, and quality-focused
