The Opportunity

A forward-thinking and growing accountancy practice in Chester City is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their expanding team.

This is a varied and client-facing role, offering the opportunity to work closely with managers and directors while supporting a diverse portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounts and tax services, alongside mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and build strong relationships with a portfolio of clients

  • Prepare and review year-end accounts and financial statements

  • Calculate corporation tax and personal tax liabilities

  • Provide practical tax planning advice to clients

  • Work closely with managers and other departments to deliver a high standard of service

  • Support and improve client accounting processes

  • Lead, coach and develop junior staff and trainees

  • Gain a strong understanding of client businesses to deliver a high-quality service

Skills & Experience Required

  • ACA / ACCA qualified with practice experience

  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses

  • Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax

  • Familiarity with accounting software (CCH experience desirable)

  • Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
