Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to deliver high-quality audit and accounts work across a varied client portfolio. This role offers ownership of audit engagements and statutory accounts deliverables, with opportunities to support advisory projects and mentor junior colleagues within a proactive practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead audit assignments from planning through completion in line with professional standards
Prepare and review year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
Produce management accounts and financial reporting packs for clients
Complete reconciliations, control accounts and supporting schedules for audits and accounts
Assist with tax computations including corporation and personal tax returns as required
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact
Supervise, coach and develop junior team members on audit and accounting work
Support process improvements, quality standards and internal workflows across the practice
Contribute to advisory engagements, offering practical business insight to clients
Ideal Candidate Profile
Part-qualified (ACA / ACCA / Chartered Certified) or experienced accountant with a strong audit/accounts practice background
Proven experience leading audit engagements and preparing accounts within an accountancy practice
Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles and compliance requirements
Excellent communication skills, with experience building and maintaining client relationships
Self-motivated, organised and capable of managing multiple deadlines independently
Proficient with audit software and cloud accounting tools (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar)
