Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to deliver high-quality audit and accounts work across a varied client portfolio. This role offers ownership of audit engagements and statutory accounts deliverables, with opportunities to support advisory projects and mentor junior colleagues within a proactive practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through completion in line with professional standards

  • Prepare and review year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

  • Produce management accounts and financial reporting packs for clients

  • Complete reconciliations, control accounts and supporting schedules for audits and accounts

  • Assist with tax computations including corporation and personal tax returns as required

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact

  • Supervise, coach and develop junior team members on audit and accounting work

  • Support process improvements, quality standards and internal workflows across the practice

  • Contribute to advisory engagements, offering practical business insight to clients

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Part-qualified (ACA / ACCA / Chartered Certified) or experienced accountant with a strong audit/accounts practice background

  • Proven experience leading audit engagements and preparing accounts within an accountancy practice

  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles and compliance requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience building and maintaining client relationships

  • Self-motivated, organised and capable of managing multiple deadlines independently

  • Proficient with audit software and cloud accounting tools (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar)
