Senior Accountant – Chester (Handbridge)
Location: Chester (Handbridge)
Salary: £32,000 – £45,000, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, hybrid/flexible working possible
Role Summary
An experienced Senior Accountant is being sought to join a well-established accountancy practice in Chester. The role is ideal for someone with practice experience who enjoys variety, direct client interaction, and managing their own portfolio of clients. The Senior Accountant will prepare high-quality accounts, provide accounting advice, and support ongoing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare statutory accounts and management accounts for a range of clients

Complete tax computations and self-assessment returns

Assist with VAT return preparation and bookkeeping oversight

Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients

Support and mentor junior team members

Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all work
Requirements

ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent practice experience

Strong technical accounting knowledge

Experience with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Confidence in building and managing client relationships
