Senior Accountant – York, North Yorkshire

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

The Role
-
Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors
-
Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
-
Oversee corporation tax and personal tax computations
-
Review VAT returns and management accounts
-
Act as a key point of contact for client queries and advisory matters

Support and mentor junior team members
-
Assist with workflow management and internal process improvements
Requirements
-
ACA or ACCA qualified, or QBE with strong practice experience
-
Minimum 4+ years’ experience in an accountancy practice environment
-
Confident managing a client portfolio independently
-
Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, tax, and compliance
-
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
-
Experience with cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) desirable
