About the Role
We’re representing a forward-thinking and fast-paced accountancy group that is looking to expand its highly respected Tax Advisory team with a Tax Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with Tax Directors and Senior Tax Managers on complex client matters, while also supporting and mentoring junior team members. Based in Manchester, this role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of business owners and SMEs, with involvement in both tax compliance and specialist advisory projects.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with Tax Directors and Senior Tax Managers on advisory and compliance projects for a diverse client portfolio
Deliver specialist tax advisory work including acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations, business incorporations, remuneration planning, employee ownership trusts, and share schemes
Advise owner-managed businesses on corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax planning
Support clients during HMRC enquiries and investigations, including reviewing junior team members’ advice, financial analysis, and technical research
Provide a technical resource for smaller accountants within the group, offering support by phone and email
Mentor, train, and support the development of junior staff within the tax team
Contribute to process improvement and the overall growth of the tax advisory department
Ideal Candidate Profile
ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified, ideally with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience within a tax practice
Strong background advising owner-managed businesses on a broad range of tax issues
Exposure to VAT advantageous but not essential
Excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple assignments to deadline
Proactive and motivated, with the drive to contribute to a progressive, collaborative team environment
