Salary: from £45,000– Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

An independently owned and managed accountancy practice in Newport is seeking a Tax Senior / Assistant Manager to join its growing Business Services team. The firm provides personal and corporate tax compliance services to a wide range of clients, including owner-managed businesses and groups, and offers clear progression and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal and corporate tax compliance for owner-managed businesses and groups

  • Manage a portfolio of personal, partnership, and corporate tax cases

  • Prepare corporation tax returns, P11Ds, personal tax returns, partnership computations and returns

  • Assist with complex corporate tax cases and taxation planning

  • Communicate effectively with HMRC and clients

  • Assist with training and mentoring junior staff

  • Ensure all filing and reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time

  • Maintain high standards of compliance and client service

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant experience in a practice environment

  • Experience with corporation tax, personal tax, partnership tax, VAT, inheritance tax, and other taxes

  • Proven client portfolio management skills

  • Up-to-date CPD records

  • Strong communication, organisational, and reporting skills

  • Flexible and able to work additional hours or in other offices when required

  • Experience with CCH software advantageous
