Personal & Private Tax Senior or Manager
Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000
Contract: Full Time, Hybrid after probation
An established and respected independent accountancy practice in Stoke-on-Trent is looking for an experienced and motivated Personal & Private Tax Senior or Manager to join their growing tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with a strong background in personal and private client tax, including experience working with self-employed individuals, high-net-worth clients, trusts, and estates. The role offers genuine scope for development and involvement in advisory and planning work, not just compliance.
The Role of Personal & Private Tax Senior/Manager
As a key member of the tax team, you will:

Manage a portfolio of private clients, including self-employed individuals, company directors, and HNWIs.

Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns and related computations.

Handle trust and estate tax compliance, including inheritance tax reporting.

Provide tailored advisory and planning support across areas such as capital gains, succession, and income structuring.

Liaise directly with HMRC and clients on complex queries.

Support junior team members and assist in developing internal tax knowledge.

Contribute to ad-hoc tax planning projects and client meetings alongside partners.
The Ideal Candidate

Experience in personal tax within an accountancy practice.

Strong technical understanding of trusts, estates, and high-net-worth client taxation.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - comfortable managing client relationships.

A positive and professional attitude with a genuine interest in private client advisory work.

ATT or CTA qualification (qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience).
