Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee Payroll Administrator, you will:
Prepare and run weekly/monthly payrolls accurately for clients using IRIS Payroll Professional or Staffology
Complete payroll journals for posting to the Nominal Ledger
Prepare monthly and annual HMRC returns (FPS, EPS, EYUs)
Deduct pension contributions and manage auto-enrolment services
Deal efficiently with internal and external payroll queries from clients and HMRC
Provide accurate reports and client communications regarding PAYE liabilities
Set up new payrolls and provide technical guidance on payroll matters
Support junior team members with payroll queries and processes
Requirements
Ideally 2 years’ previous payroll experience (bureau experience not essential)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Positive, can-do attitude with willingness to learn
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Competent in Microsoft Office and payroll software
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
