Semi Senior Accountant
Location: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Hybrid after probation
A well regarded local accountancy practice in Nottingham is looking for a proactive Semi Senior Accountant to join their friendly team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring accountant who is currently studying or looking to study towards their ACA qualification, with full study support available. You’ll gain exposure across all areas of general practice including accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and tax, working closely with a varied portfolio of clients.
The Role of Semi Senior Accountant
As a Semi Senior Accountant, you’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth delivery of accounting and compliance services to clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.

Completing bookkeeping tasks and reconciling accounts using cloud-based software.

Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with MTD requirements.

Assisting with monthly payroll processing and related compliance.

Preparing personal and corporation tax returns.

Liaising directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries.

Supporting the wider team and assisting senior accountants as needed.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in building a long-term career in accountancy practice. The ideal candidate will have:

At least 2 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice (essential).

Currently studying ACA or looking to begin study (full support provided).

Good working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client service.

A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop within a supportive environment.
