Registered Veterinary Nurse – Independent Practice – East Sussex

Location: East Sussex (Seaford area)
Employment Type: Part-time (approx. 33 hours per week)
Hours: Two shifts 9:00–17:30 and two late shifts finishing at 19:00 (start times 09:00–10:00); potential option for a 3-shift week (approx. 27 hours) for the right candidate
Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturdays (9:00–13:00)
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are working with a well-established independent small animal practice in East Sussex seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their friendly and close-knit team.

This is a part-time position averaging 33 hours per week across four shifts, including two earlier days and two later finishes. The practice is also open to offering a 3-shift week (approx. 27 hours) for a strong candidate seeking a reduced schedule.

The role offers excellent variety, allowing full involvement in nursing duties including inpatient care, anaesthesia, theatre work, and client communication. The practice is busy, providing opportunities for paid overtime for those wishing to increase monthly earnings.

You'll be joining an experienced team of vets, nurses, and receptionists who deliver a highly personal, community-focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent inpatient and outpatient nursing care

  • Supporting surgical and anaesthetic procedures

  • Assisting with diagnostic work and laboratory tasks

  • Delivering friendly, informed client communication

  • Working collaboratively with the wider clinical and reception team

  • Participating in the weekend rota and optional overtime

About You

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse (essential)

  • Confident across general nursing duties, including theatre and inpatient care

  • Friendly, compassionate, and client-focused
