Hours: One fixed day off per week
Weekends: 1 in 5 weekends – Saturday morning nursing cover (paid at overtime rate) followed by on-call for the remainder of the weekend (retainer + callout pay)
Salary: £29,000 - £32,000
About the Role
We are working with a purpose-built, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital in Kent seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their friendly and experienced team.
This full-time position offers a balanced 4-day working week with a fixed day off and participation in a fair 1-in-5 weekend rota. Weekend duties include a paid Saturday morning clinic and on-call support for inpatients and emergencies, with additional compensation through retainer and callout fees.
This is a hands-on role ideal for an RVN who enjoys variety — from theatre nursing and anaesthesia to inpatient care, diagnostics, and client communication. You will be well supported by a strong team of vets, RVNs, and support staff in a hospital environment that encourages professional growth and independent nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities

Providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient nursing care

Supporting theatre, anaesthesia, and surgical procedures

Assisting with diagnostics, imaging, and laboratory work

Monitoring hospitalised patients and supporting out-of-hours care when on rota

Maintaining excellent client communication and teamwork

Upholding high clinical and welfare standards
About You

RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse (essential)

Confident across general nursing duties including anaesthesia and inpatient care

Good communicator with strong organisational skills

Enjoys working in a busy hospital environment
