About the Role
An excellent opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in surgery to join a well-established cat-only practice in Llanishen, Cardiff. This role is ideal for a vet looking to further develop their surgical skills while working in a focused feline environment with a loyal client base.
The position offers exposure to a wide range of first opinion cases, combining consultations, diagnostics, and routine surgery, with strong support for ongoing professional development.
Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Llanishen, Cardiff
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 1 in 3 Saturdays
About the Practice
This is a well-equipped, feline-only veterinary practice designed to deliver high-quality, low-stress care for cats.
The practice benefits from advanced facilities including digital X-ray, 3D imaging, ultrasound with Doppler, multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring, in-house laboratory equipment, and dental suite, supporting a high standard of clinical work.
They operate within a collaborative veterinary network, offering access to clinical communities, internal CPD, and advanced referral support, ensuring excellent opportunities for development and progression.
Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will play a key role in delivering exceptional care across all aspects of first opinion practice.
Providing high-quality clinical care in consultations and surgery
Managing case workups and diagnostics
Performing routine surgical procedures with a focus on developing surgical skills
Building strong client relationships and delivering tailored treatment plans
Working collaboratively within a close-knit team environment
Contributing to clinical standards and ongoing team development
Candidate Profile
They are seeking a RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS) with a passion for feline medicine and surgery.
Strong interest in surgery and clinical development
Confident in routine procedures and first opinion practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A team-oriented approach with a proactive attitude
Commitment to high standards of patient and client care
