Experienced Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Small Animal Practice

Hours: Full-time over 4 days per week
Weekends: 1 in 3 weekends
On-Call: 1 in 3 weekends, plus 1–2 nights per week
Salary: £45,000-£70,000, dependent on experience

We are representing a well-established, family-run independent veterinary practice that is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their close-knit clinical team.

About the Practice

Established in 1985, the practice has built a loyal and long-standing client base, resulting in a rewarding and personable caseload. Despite being a small team, the practice is extremely busy and well supported, allowing vets to focus on delivering high-quality clinical care.

The team consists of:

  • 2 Veterinary Surgeons

  • 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses

  • Full administrative support

This is a genuinely collaborative working environment where every team member is valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality first-opinion veterinary care

  • Managing medical and surgical cases

  • Providing excellent client communication and continuity of care

  • Participating in the on-call and weekend rota

  • Working collaboratively with nursing and administrative teams

About You

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

  • Confident with general practice medicine and surgery

  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills

  • Comfortable with a busy caseload

  • Committed to delivering high standards of patient care
