Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice – Aberdeen

Hours: 3 days 8:00am–5:00pm and 2 days 8:00am–6:30pm (part time hours considered)
Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturdays (8:00am–1:00pm)

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000

About the Role

We are working with a well-established independent veterinary practice in Aberdeen seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and experienced team.

This full-time position offers a clearly structured weekday rota combining earlier finishes with longer days, alongside a shared 1-in-4 Saturday morning commitment. With no out-of-hours requirement, the role supports an excellent work–life balance.

The caseload is predominantly small animal; however, some large animal experience would be advantageous, making this role suitable for vets with mixed-practice exposure or those keen to retain a broader clinical skillset.

The practice is well equipped and supported by an experienced nursing and support team, creating a collaborative and welcoming working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality veterinary care across consultations and routine surgery

  • Managing a predominantly small animal caseload

  • Applying large animal experience where required

  • Building strong, long-term relationships with clients

  • Working collaboratively with vets, RVNs, and support staff

  • Maintaining high clinical and welfare standards

About You

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

  • Confident in general practice consultations and routine surgery

  • Predominantly small animal focused; large animal experience beneficial

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Compassionate, practical, and client-focused
