Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Full-Time - North Leeds, West Yorkshire - £38,000–£60,000
Hours: 4.5-day working week
Weekends: 1 in 5 Saturdays (9:00am–3:00pm, consults only)
The Opportunity
An independent, family-owned small animal practice in North Leeds is looking to recruit a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and experienced team. The practice focuses on delivering modern medicine with traditional values, without corporate targets or pressure.
This role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon who values clinical freedom, continuity of care, and working within a close-knit, supportive environment.
The Role
The position offers a genuine mix of consulting and surgery, working primarily from a main branch with occasional sessions at a nearby consulting-only site. Some sole charge is required on evenings and Saturdays, though this would not be expected immediately for new graduate vets.
The rota includes an additional half day off on the Friday following a worked weekend, supporting a strong work–life balance.
The Practice
You will be joining a long-established, RCVS-accredited nurse training practice with a loyal client base and a highly experienced veterinary team. The practice is well equipped with endoscopy, digital radiography, Doppler ultrasound, and a strong range of surgical equipment, with many cases managed in-house.
The ethos is focused on quality care rather than growth, allowing vets to practise good medicine within realistic expectations for both clinicians and clients.
