Veterinary Surgeon - Redruth & St. Ives
About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established practice working across two sites in Redruth and St Ives, Cornwall. This role offers an excellent balance of clinical variety and lifestyle, ideal for a vet looking to combine rewarding work with coastal living.
The position involves working across two practices, providing a diverse caseload and continuity of care, with opportunities to develop clinical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Location: Redruth & St Ives, Cornwall
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours over 4 days, 1 in 3 Saturdays (08:30–12:30), no OOH or bank holidays
About the Practice
The practices are well-equipped, modern small animal sites offering a high standard of clinical care.
Facilities across both locations include digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental imaging, in-house laboratory services, and dedicated surgical theatres, alongside separate wards and well-designed clinical spaces.
The team environment is highly supportive, with access to a wider network of veterinary professionals, including vets working towards certificates in areas such as small animal medicine, cardiology, and orthopaedics. This provides excellent opportunities for collaboration, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality clinical care across both sites. Responsibilities include:
Providing excellent clinical care in consultations and surgical procedures
Managing a varied caseload across two practice settings
Building strong client relationships and delivering tailored treatment plans
Working both independently (including some sole charge) and collaboratively
Supporting and contributing to team development and clinical standards
Candidate Profile
They are seeking a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for high-quality care.
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS)
Ideally 3+ years’ UK experience
Comfortable with routine surgery, diagnostics, and consultations
Confident with sole charge when required
Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
Committed to clinical excellence and continuous development
