About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon (ECC) to join a busy, well-equipped 24-hour hospital in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. This is an ideal role for a vet with a strong interest or background in emergency and critical care, looking to work in a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment.
This position offers a strong focus on critical care, emergency caseload, and high-quality patient outcomes, supported by a collaborative and experienced team.
The role is offered on a full-time basis (40 hours over 4 days) with a 1 in 6 full weekend rota, with flexibility for part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
Salary: £68,800 per annum
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Schedule: 4 days per week, 1 in 6 weekends
About the Practice
This is a purpose-built, 24-hour veterinary hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities to support a high standard of clinical care.
Facilities include digital X-ray, ultrasound, full-body CT scanner, and an in-house laboratory, alongside multiple consulting rooms, dedicated theatres, and spacious prep and learning areas.
The practice operates as part of a wider network of veterinary professionals, offering excellent access to clinical collaboration, internal CPD, and career progression pathways.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering outstanding emergency and critical care. Duties will include:
Providing high-quality clinical care across consultations and surgical procedures
Managing emergency and critical cases with confidence and professionalism
Developing tailored treatment plans in partnership with clients
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Supporting clinical standards and contributing to ongoing team development
Candidate Profile
They are seeking a qualified Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS) with a passion for ECC and delivering exceptional patient care.
Strong interest or experience in emergency and critical care (ECC)
ECC certificate desirable but not essential
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous development
A proactive and compassionate approach to patient and client care
