Key Responsibilities
Perform physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment plans for dogs and cats
Utilize a problem-based approach for patient care, including differential diagnoses and complete treatment plans
Conduct routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, mass removals, and abdominal exploratories
Perform dental procedures, including full dental exams, radiographs, extractions, and oral surgeries
Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization and coordinate overnight care as needed
Collaborate with referral hospitals for continuity of patient care
Mentor and share knowledge with support staff to enhance team performance
Uphold hospital SOPs and maintain accurate, detailed medical records
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
Active veterinary licensure in Illinois or ability to obtain prior to start
Current DEA license and controlled substance license (if applicable)
Comfortable performing anesthesia, routine surgeries, and dental procedures
Strong communication, teamwork, and client-education skills
Compassionate, professional demeanor with excellent problem-solving ability
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in mentorship and collaboration with team members
Previous experience in a full-service small animal practice
Commitment to professional development and continuous learning

Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience (ranging from $150k to $170k)
