They are seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join a busy, community-focused small animal practice in Opelika, Alabama. This role welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, offering mentorship, hands-on surgical training, and a supportive team environment.
The position features a flexible schedule, no after-hours or on-call duties, and a 1:1 doctor-to-technician ratio, ensuring veterinarians can provide high-quality care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
About the Practice
This stand-alone, 100% small animal practice has served the Opelika and Auburn communities for over 45 years. The hospital includes:
3 exam rooms and 2 surgery suites
Boarding area for patient care
Digital X-ray, with an upgraded dental machine coming soon
Average of 40–50+ patients per day
The practice is known for its friendly, family-like culture, combining small-town charm with the medical capabilities of larger hospitals.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventative care for small animals
Conduct wellness exams and specialized procedures
Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians to deliver high-quality care
Participate in mentorship programs and surgical training (for new graduates)
Maintain accurate medical records and communicate treatment plans effectively
Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited university or equivalent
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Alabama
Experienced or new graduate veterinarians are encouraged to apply
