They are seeking a boarded or residency-trained Veterinary Oncologist to join a growing specialty and emergency team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is ideal for an oncologist looking to build and shape a dedicated oncology service in a supportive, collaborative environment with access to advanced diagnostic and surgical tools.
Doctors in this position will manage a referral-based oncology caseload while collaborating closely with specialists in Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Emergency Services. The practice supports both full-time and part-time schedules and fosters professional growth, mentorship, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The hospital is a state-of-the-art, 10,000 sq ft specialty and emergency facility located near downtown Birmingham. It has evolved from a combination of specialty ophthalmology and internal medicine practices into a fully integrated, multidisciplinary referral hospital.

Responsibilities
Provide advanced oncology care for referral patients, including diagnostics, chemotherapy, and palliative treatments
Collaborate with internal medicine, emergency, and specialty teams to provide comprehensive care
Mentor and support residents, interns, and hospital staff as appropriate
Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with referring veterinarians and clients
Participate in clinical studies and contribute to the growth of the oncology service
Candidate Profile
Boarded or residency-trained in Veterinary Oncology
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Alabama
Experienced in medical, surgical, and diagnostic oncology care
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
Committed to clinical excellence and lifelong learning
Passionate about mentoring and professional development
