Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - St Boswells
Location: St Boswells, Scottish Borders
Hours: Full-time (36 hours per week, 4-day week) with 1 in 5 OOH rota
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon seeking a mixed vet job in the Scottish Borders.

About the Practice
The practice is a well-established mixed veterinary environment with a strong farm client base and a high-quality companion animal caseload.
Facilities are modern and well-equipped, including digital radiography, ultrasound, dental imaging, endoscopy equipment, and advanced surgical capabilities.
There is also access to specialist-level services, including orthopaedics and advanced soft tissue procedures, alongside a multidisciplinary team supporting rehabilitation and regenerative medicine.

Responsibilities
Delivering a balanced mixed caseload, including farm and small animal work
Undertaking routine and advanced surgical procedures (depending on experience)
Providing high-quality consultations and client care
Participating in a 1:5 out-of-hours rota, supported by nursing staff
Contributing to continuity of care and emergency work as required
Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary clinical team
Supporting the development of clinical standards and practice growth
Engaging in ongoing professional development and CPD
Candidate Profile
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mixed practice
Confident handling both farm and companion animal cases
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive and team-oriented approach
Keen to develop clinical interests within a supportive environment
Committed to delivering excellent patient and client care
Compensation & Benefits
