Registered Veterinary Nurse - Liskeard
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a friendly and well-established small animal practice in Liskeard, Cornwall. This is a genuinely varied role where you will be fully utilised across all areas of nursing, within a supportive and experienced team.
You will be involved in a broad caseload, with opportunities to develop your skills in theatre work, inpatient care, nurse consults, and laboratory work, while being encouraged to use your full nursing skill set.
Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Liskeard, Cornwall
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours over 5 days) or part-time considered, including OOH rota (1 in 7) and Saturday mornings
About the Practice
This is an RCVS-accredited training practice with a strong reputation for clinical excellence and a collaborative team culture.
The practice is well-equipped with modern facilities and advanced surgical capabilities, including in-house orthopaedics and laparoscopic procedures, supporting a diverse and interesting caseload.
The team consists of experienced vets and nurses with a wide range of clinical interests, creating an excellent environment for learning, mentoring, and career progression. There is also the opportunity to become a Clinical Coach for those interested in supporting student development.
Responsibilities
The Registered Veterinary Nurse will play a key role across all aspects of the practice.
Providing high-quality inpatient care and patient monitoring
Supporting surgical procedures and theatre work
Running nurse-led consultations and clinics
Assisting with laboratory work and diagnostics
Managing insurance claims and administrative tasks
Booking procedures and supporting practice workflow
Participating in the on-call and weekend rota
Delivering excellent client care and communication
Candidate Profile
They are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
Qualified and RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
Passion for delivering high standards of patient care
Keen to utilise and develop a broad range of nursing skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
