Accountant – Scunthorpe (North Lincolnshire)

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

  • The team supports clients using modern cloud accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage.

The Role

  • Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and financial reports for a portfolio of SME clients.

  • Produce corporation and personal tax computations and support filing.

  • Deliver bookkeeping services: reconcile ledgers, maintain control accounts, and process transactions.

  • Provide payroll support to clients, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

  • Liaise with clients, understand their business challenges, and provide practical, commercially minded advice.

  • Implement and support cloud accounting software, helping clients adopt or improve usage of QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.

  • Work collaboratively with other team members, contributing to continuous process improvement.

  • Stay up to date with accounting standards and tax legislation to ensure best practice and compliance.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) or qualified by experience

  • Previous accountancy practice experience preferred

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with cloud-based accounting software

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills

  • Well organised, detail-focused, and able to manage a client portfolio effectively

  • Good communication skills, able to explain financial concepts clearly to clients

  • Proactive and adaptable, with a willingness to support business growth and clients’ needs
