The Role of Audit & Accounts Senior (Accountancy Practice Jobs Dudley)
This Audit & Accounts Senior role in Dudley offers a balanced mix of audit engagements and accounts preparation, working with a diverse portfolio of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and larger organisations.
You will take ownership of audits from planning through to completion, while also supporting accounts and tax work across the client base.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Responsibilities
- Lead audits from planning through to completion
- Manage onsite audit fieldwork and audit teams
- Prepare audit files for Manager / RI review
- Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards
- Build an understanding of client businesses and risks
Accounts & Tax Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory accounts
- Prepare corporation tax computations
- Support with non-audit assignments
- Work to budgets and deadlines, escalating issues where necessary
Team & Client Management
- Liaise directly with clients, providing a high level of service
- Support and mentor trainees and junior staff
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Contribute to process improvements and best practice sharing
- Communicate effectively with Managers on job progress
Audit, Accounts & Client Exposure
This role offers strong exposure to:
- Audit assignments across a varied client base
- Statutory accounts and financial reporting
- Corporation tax compliance
- Direct client interaction and relationship management
- Team leadership and mentoring responsibilities
About You - Audit & Accounts Senior
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and technically capable practice accountant with experience across both audit and accounts.
You will ideally have:
- ACA / ACCA Qualified
- Strong knowledge of audit and accounting standards
- Experience using accounting software and Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (for client site visits)
