Assistant Accountant
Location: Cross Hills, Keighley
Salary: £26,000–£30,000 DOE
Working Pattern: Full-time

Established regional accountancy and advisory firm with a strong presence across Yorkshire. Serves a diverse client base spanning manufacturing, construction, agriculture, retail and professional services. Offers a supportive working environment with a focus on long-term client relationships and commercial insight. Opportunities to develop in both compliance and advisory areas within a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- VAT returns, corporate and personal tax computations
- Bookkeeping and client records using Xero, Sage and CCH
- Production of management accounts and basic cashflow forecasts
- Liaising directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
- Preparing statutory filings with HMRC and Companies House
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Supporting broader advisory and business planning work where needed
Requirements:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (QBE considered)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a UK practice environment
- Proficient in cloud-based software (e.g. Xero, Sage, CCH)
- Strong Excel skills and confident handling of financial data
- Excellent communication, attention to detail and time management
