A growing independent accountancy practice in Sutton Coldfield is looking to recruit an experienced Semi Senior or Senior Accountant to join its expanding team.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with owner-managed businesses and SME clients, delivering high-quality accounts, tax, and financial reporting services while also contributing to the growth of the practice.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced practice accountant with at least 4 years’ accountancy practice experience who enjoys working with clients, mentoring junior staff, and providing proactive financial insights.

The Role of Semi Senior / Senior Accountant
As a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a portfolio of clients while supporting the management team with business development and client relationships.
You will work closely with business owners to provide timely financial reporting, tax compliance, and advisory insights that support decision making and business growth.
Key Responsibilities

Preparing statutory accounts for SME and owner-managed businesses

Preparing corporation tax and personal tax computations

Delivering monthly management accounts and financial reporting

Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and financial planning

Supporting clients with accounting queries and business insights
-
Identifying opportunities to add value and improve client outcomes

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the accounts team

Assisting with workflow management and client service delivery

Contributing to practice growth and new business opportunities

Building strong, trusted client relationships
About You
The successful candidate will be a proactive and commercially minded practice accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and delivering exceptional service.
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a UK accountancy practice
- Live within the local area around Sutton Coldfield

Strong experience preparing accounts and tax compliance work

Ability to confidently present financial information to clients

Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members

Excellent communication and client relationship skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
Desirable:

ACCA or ACA studying, qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE)

Commercial awareness and interest in business advisory work
