Senior Accountant – Widnes | Full-Time, Permanent | £35,000–£40,000 + Commission & Bonus | Hybrid

Location: Widnes (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 + Commission Pay & Performance Bonus
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (flexible working)
Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounts for Limited Companies under FRS 105 and 102

  • Prepare corporation tax returns

  • Prepare and file self-assessments

  • Handle client queries and provide advisory support

  • Complete VAT returns

  • Assist with management accounts for smaller clients

  • Manage your own client portfolio

  • Support and mentor junior team members

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice

  • Proficient in Xero (essential)

  • Ability to process and submit VAT returns, self-assessments, corporation tax returns, and year-end accounts

  • AAT Level 4, QBE, or equivalent qualification

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and client-focused

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with other cloud-based software such as Client Manager, FreeAgent, Practice Ignition, QuickBooks

  • Knowledge or experience in hospitality, e-commerce, or construction sectors

  • Basic knowledge of payroll processes advantageous but not essential
