Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice – East Yorkshire

Location: East Yorkshire (commutable to Bridlington and Driffield)
Employment Type: Full-time (4-day week) or part-time considered
Weekends: 1 in 6 weekends (day shifts only, with time back in lieu); share of bank holidays (TOIL provided)
OOH: Covered by dedicated night team (no overnight work required)
Salary: £35,000 – £70,000, dependent on experience + benefits

About the Role

We are working with an independent, RCVS-accredited small animal practice in East Yorkshire that is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their highly skilled team. This role offers an excellent work-life balance with a fixed weekday off, a 4-day working week, and no overnight duties thanks to a dedicated night team.

The practice has a strong reputation for clinical excellence and is equipped with modern facilities including a CT scanner, laparoscopic surgery suite, orthopaedic theatre, dental suite with radiography, video endoscopy, and a dedicated rehabilitation department offering physiotherapy, laser therapy, acupuncture, and hydrotherapy.

The Ideal Candidate

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience (GDP completed)

  • Strong all-rounder in general practice, with confidence in both consultations and routine surgeries

  • Candidates with certificate-level experience or specialist interests are highly encouraged to apply

  • Conscientious, caring, and team-focused with excellent communication skills
