About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established and supportive practice group in the Medway Towns, Kent. This role offers excellent flexibility, making it suitable for both full-time and part-time applicants seeking a positive work-life balance.
The position provides exposure to a varied first opinion caseload, with opportunities to develop clinical interests and contribute to the growth and development of a practice site.
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Location: Medway Towns, Kent
Schedule: Full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours), Fridays essential, 1 in 3 Saturdays (consults only), no OOH
About the Practice
This is a well-established, multi-site small animal practice group with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care and fostering long-term client relationships.
The practices are well-equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house laboratory facilities, and dedicated surgical theatres, allowing for a high level of in-house diagnostics and treatment.
The wider team includes a large group of experienced veterinary surgeons and nurses with a diverse range of clinical interests, creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment. There is also a strong focus on community engagement, with links to local animal charities.
Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will play a key role in delivering high standards of care across the practice group.
Providing excellent clinical care in consultations and routine surgery
Managing a varied first opinion caseload
Developing treatment plans and communicating effectively with clients
Supporting the development and growth of a practice site, including some sole charge work
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest clinical standards
Contributing to clinical discussions, case workups, and ongoing development
Candidate Profile
They are seeking a confident and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team.
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS)
Ideally 3–5 years’ UK small animal experience
Confident managing a varied caseload
Comfortable with occasional sole charge
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Interest in CPD, further study, or community/charity work
